Reduced CO2 impact
AGES takes the lead in CO2 reduction. It is a strategic board decision, even though the market has not yet set any requirements in this area, we work proactively and long-term. After an analysis based on customer and market expectations, we believe that it is only a matter of time before all industry stages must report their emissions. It is a competitive advantage for our customers to be one step ahead.
Reduced climate impact by 40%
Through active and consistent work, we have reduced our CO2 emissions for die casting by more than 40% over the past two years. The next step is to continue calculating and reducing our emissions for machining. The report has been produced and reviewed by independent consultants.
Driven by headquarters
Together with independent consultants, we ourselves and our suppliers have gone through the entire supply chain to calculate the CO2 emissions at all levels and can now report the carbon dioxide effect in kg per kg of castings. AGES leads the development in our industry.
Because we care
We have focused on die casted aluminum products, without finishing, from raw material to complete product, according to the international standard Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG). Our die casted products are made from 100% recycled aluminum and we only buy electricity from renewable sources to further reduce our climate footprint.
Greenhouse gas protocol (GHG)
Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) is a well-reputed global standard for calculating and reporting greenhouse gas emissions. The principles for reporting mean that the results are transparent, consistent and comparable between different organizations. The result is reported in carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e). The cornerstones are Measure, Manage, Report and Reduce.
